Road I Walk 03:44
There ain't nothing down this road I been walking I'm not proud of what I've done There ain't too much truth in what I been talking Sin just rolls off my tongue Shine a light down Show me a better way Shine a light down Before I'm gone There ain't too much good in this world we live in You can see it every day Just keep on walking down whatever road you're walking No matter what they say Shine a light down Show me a better way Shine a light down Before I'm gone It's a lonely walk alone (It's a lonely walk) Hang on to what you have (Hang on to what you have) Please light this path I'm on (Light the path I'm on) Cause I'm lost again Shine a light down Show me a better way Shine, Shine, Shine down Before I'm gone

I don't want to but I'm gonna Tell a story about a man who Bet the devil to save his family Bet the devil and lost his soul Down the road and across the river Lives a man who loved to gamble Poker playin' and drinkin' whiskey Don't do nothin' to feed your family Then one day a man came callin' Deck of cards and a piece of paper Don't cost nothin' if you're winnin' If you lose then I'll need a favor Don't play cards with the old man Not like I done Don't bet nothin' with the old man He's gonna take your soul Shuffled up and then he chuckled Five card stud is what I'm dealin' Got my cards and smiled at him Turned them over so he could see Very nice he said a grinnin' But not good enough you see Slid the paper over and Took the soul right outta me Don't play cards with the old man Not like I done Don't bet nothin' with old man He's gonna take your soul

Penny for your thoughts son And a nickel for the lead Fear is for the living And peace is for the dead There's always room in the Undertakers Window C'mon down you fighting men Once you wash your hands in crimson You'll never be the same again Cry out broken hearted Ever mournful weep As the dear departed Ever sweetly sleep There's always room in the Undertakers Window C'mon down you fighting men Once you wash your hands in crimson You'll never be the same again There's always room in the Undertakers Window C'mon down you fighting men Once you wash your hands in crimson You'll never be the same again There's no room in the Undertakers Window Long gone are fighting men Washed clean in a river of crimson Gone to glory with a mournful hymn

Long black car gonna carry me away Press my suit, comb my hair down straight Don't be sad, there ain't no need to cry Just see me off on my pine box ride For the wages of sin is death! Well the sheriff put a rope around my no good neck He said "Hey boy any last requests?" I breathed in deep and I said with a sigh "No Sir I'm ready for my pine box ride" Long black car gonna carry me away Press my suit, comb my hair down straight Don't be sad, there ain't no need to cry See me off on my pine box ride Whosever was not found in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire! St. Peter met me out at the pearly gates He said "hang on son, you gotta wait" He flipped through his book and he said "That's a shame" "I looked through it twice and I don't see you're name" Long black car gonna carry me away Press my suit, comb my hair down straight Don't be sad, there ain't no need to cry See me off on my pine box ride Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent! You were doing wrong and your life's full of pain Everything to lose and nothing to gain There's still time to turn it around Get straightened out and don't follow me down Long black car gonna carry me away Press my suit, comb my hair down straight Don't be sad, there ain't no need to cry See me off on my pine box ride Long black car gonna carry me away Press my suit, comb my hair down straight Don't be sad, there ain't no need to cry See me off on my pine box ride

Sunshine 03:49
There's blood on a pick and a shovel full of coal There's so many ghosts down in this hole On the devil's doorstep is where I spend my days I'm being broken down in old familiar ways Oh, Sunshine Won't you warm these tired bones of mine Oh, Sunshine Won't you fill these eyes of mine one more, one more time Blistered skin and a weary heavy mind Dig at the souls that Heaven left behind In this thick black air every man is gone Dying in the shadows and praying for the sun Oh, Sunshine Won't you warm these tired bones of mine Oh, Sunshine Won't you fill these eyes of mine one more, one more time Here's to those we'll never see again Some we've never known, others we call friends Wherever they are the light is shining down They left their pain with us buried under ground Oh, Sunshine Won't you warm these tired bones of mine Oh, Sunshine Won't you fill these eyes of mine one more, one more time

The smile on your face was my saving grace When you picked me up and pulled me away I could live 100 more years and it wouldn't be enough, it appears for me to say, and try to repay what you've given me honestly I hope you know when it's hard for me to show what you mean to me honestly, you're the one Sunshine or rain, laughter or pain Oh you fill me up and save me again I could live 100 more years and it wouldn't be enough, it appears for me to say, and try to repay what you've given me honestly I hope you know when it's hard for me to show what you mean to me honestly, you're the one Tangled up in fear, I know you're hear to free me up, and to make things clear I could live 100 more years and it wouldn't be enough, it appears for me to say, and try to repay what you've given me honestly I hope you know when it's hard to show what you mean to me honestly, you're the one

Hard to live the million dollar dream on your nickel reality Hard as hell to raise your head off the pillow of shame When you're living hand to mouth hard to hold on to anything Keep a weary eye on hope as your faith slides away If we're really closer to God up on these mountains and hillsides How come "Almost Heaven" feels like Hell sometimes? Can't wrap your head around the scene Shed your hometown mentality You'll scrape by and you'll be fine this is how it's supposed to be Loaded gun, thy will be done put an end to reality Show them how you're too damn proud to ask for what you need If we're really closer to God up on these mountains and hillsides How come "Almost Heaven" feels like Hell sometimes? If we're really closer to God up on these mountains and hillsides How come "Almost Heaven" feels like Hell sometimes? feels like Hell sometimes . . .

about

Sadwater: Vintage Collection is a collection of some of the very first songs written and recorded by Sadwater. The recording quality on some of these songs shows that we were recording with what we had at the time. They also show growth in quality. These recordings/songs were written and recorded over the span of a few years, and still to this day it has some of our favorite songs on it.
